Dim sum. The mysterious taste experience that many of us have never tried, wanted to but were either hesitant or more likely it not being available in your area. So after watching a few Youtube videos my wife and I struck out to visit The Golden Palace and see what Dim sum is all about. We arrived about 2pm on a Saturday and were immediately seated. The restaurant was doing a brisk business and the moment we were seated several waitresses came over to provide water and a pot of green tea. The owner, Mr. Ping came to our table, introduced himself and when he found this was our first Dim sum experience he graciously offered to suggest dishes. We had quite a feast to say the least and there was enough to take home for later but what a terrific taste experience. Everything came to the table piping hot and was brought in by a series of very friendly waitresses. I will caution you about the chili dipping sauce though. One taste leaves a lasting impression on your taste buds. All in all we had a lovely time and will be back again to be sure. Thank you Mr. Ping!

I have meaning to try Golden Palace many times after reading reviews. Finally made a visit. We arrived around 3:00 on a Friday. The decorations reminded me of my favorite Chinese restaurant growing up. We were greeted with smiles and quickly seated. Got hot tea served immediately. The dim sum selection was large with fair prices. Everything is hand made and exceeded expectations. Better than most dim sum places in NYC and less crowded. Mr. Ping will come out and make recommendations if needed. My friend got zombie drinks which were served in fun glasses and garnishes. I will definitely will be back to try the rest of the menu.

We had 2 excellent dinners here this week. Delicious roast duck, soup and chow mein. The staff both nights were extremely attentive and the owner took time to talk with us about the menu and history of the restaurant. I'm new to the New London area and it's not a long drive for a great meal. Highly recommend.

But don’t be fooled by the vintage vibes—this place isn't coasting on its history. Ping, the owner, makes the food and atmosphere phenomenal. Every dish feels like it was made with care and tradition in mind. Appetizer samplers? Absolutely unforgettable. And the drinks made my Winnie - surprisingly inventive! Their house-crafted cocktails bring a fresh twist that complements the classic menu beautifully. This isn’t just dinner—it’s an experience. One that blends nostalgia with culinary excellence, and keeps you coming back, decade after decade. If you are coming to the casino or just coming for a visit, do not forget to stop at Golden Palace - the food and service were top notch. Nobody makes a Zombie like Winnie

This is the real deal. I have had dim sum all over the world including Hong Kong, San Francisco, and New York City and Golden Palace ranks right up with them. The host is extremely welcoming and friendly. All the servers are pleasant and efficient. The honey roast pork buns (cha sui bow) may be the best ever. They grow their own organic vegetables here. Need to come more often.

Genuinely one of the best restaurants I've been to. The food is exceptionally good; we had egg noodle soup with roast duck and chow fun with beef. It was amazing, and the prices are more than reasonable. A wide variety of appetizers is also available. Topped with friendly staff and a cozy atmosphere, I highly recommend it.

My boyfriend and I were looking for a good Chinese restaurant nearby to eat. We came across Golden Palace and we went based off of recent reviews. Let me just say that it did not disappoint. We’ve been to Chinese restaurants plenty of times and even had Dim Sum in Boston. This was waaaay better. We got regular menu items and Dim Sum items. We paid 42 dollars for the 2 of us. The owner was very nice and he was right when he said their food is really good. He recommended the pineapple buns and they are really good for dessert, not overly sweet and a slightly taste of pineapple filled with a soft cream. The steamed dumplings were huge and delicious! They were very filled. Their crab Rangoon were generously filled too. The steamed pork buns are really good too. The waitress brought us some crisps with duck sauce to snack on while we waited for our food, the duck sauce was very well made. To me it seems that everything was made by hand. The owner was very pleasant and made conversation with us for a bit. Definitely recommend and I would be going back!

I have wanted to stop here for a long time. I love the look at the place. I ordered a small order of pork fried rice for pick up and let me tell you, this thing was stuffed. There was lots of pork, egg, and all kinds of good stuff in the rice. I was in a hurry and the gentleman running the place was very accommodating. I don’t think I could be more pleased with my experience with the Golden Palace Chinese Restaurant...
